TSOTS-blog post 3

I remember the first time we chose our growing spots. Our spot was filled with some dried out dirt, hay, and some small sticks. Now, its flourishing with our small plants and thriving grass.

The past week or so, we have also received a good amount of rainfall. Resulting in more growth.
I noticed that the seeds have sprouted but it is surrounded by grass/weeds.

Our plant is a part of the water cycle. As water evaporates form water sources everywhere, it goes up into the atmosphere. Then, it condensates and precipitates down onto the plant. With the water, the plant is able to do photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is a process where plants use energy from the sun to synthesize carbon dioxide and water. This process is how plants make their food. With photosynthesis, water plays a  major role. The plant absorbs the water through its roots, and it goes to creating food to help the plant grow.

Plants also participate in the carbon cycle. The carbon that animals and humans (etc) breathe out, are used by plants. Carbon plays a major role in the plant's photosynthesis. The plant takes in carbon and synthesizes it with the energy from the sunlight. It becomes food for the plant. Plants also take in carbon dioxide to revert it into oxygen.

Plants take in nitrates from the soil and uses it in amino acids, chlorophyll, and nucleic acids. All the cycles (water/nitrogen/carbon) help and contribute to the plant's grow.
